Course Description
Assessment of professional competence of any professional course is essential to enhance the
credibility of the profession by permitting only those who meet the profession's competence
requirements to become company secretaries. Therefore, assessment
pattern is
such that it tests the sufficiency of technical competence, professional skills and professional
values, ethics and attitudes acquired during practical training.The assessment of professional
skills would also progress from "knowledge and comprehension" to
"application and analysis" and "evaluation and synthesis" over different levels from EET
to Professional
The Company Secretaries course is a professional course that trains people to take up the important position
of Company Secretary in large organisations. India, all companies having a paid up share capital of Rs. 10 crore or more are mandated to appoint a full time Company Secretary. The Company Secretary acts as a coordinator between the company management and its Board of Directors. The CS is required to review all legal documentation, ensuring the company is meeting the necessary government rules, regulations and mandates. With today's start up and VC Funding culture, Company Secretary is becoming an important part of negotiatior arbitrations, mergers and acquisitions.

About the Course
Students from all streams except Fine Arts are eligible to enroll for this course.
CS is a professional course having three key stages:
1. CS Executive Entrance Exam (previously referred to as CS Foundation)
2. CS Executive Exam
3. CS Professional Exam
Plus 21 months of compulsory practical training (internship). This can be undertaken after successful completion of CS Executive Exam or CS Professional Exam
CS after Std. XII/ Graduation
Students opting to pursue CS after Std. XII are required to register and appear for CSEET. On clearing this exam, the training for CS Executive Level begins.
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India has released the CSEET Syllabus Candidates
who
want to appear for the exam must follow the official syllabus for the upcoming CSEET
exam.
This exam is conducted for students who have passed or going to appear for Class 12 board exam
this
year in order to pursue a career as a company secretary. ICSI conducts CSEET Exam four times in a year.
